Rebranding - The Energy Innovation Centre

The Energy Innovation Centre required a rebrand to reflect the growth and maturity of the company and also to better represent it’s expansion beyond the energy sector into water.

It was decided that the acronym IC, that was already widely used to refer to the business, would be the best way to acknowledge the legacy and history of the company, but also represent a positive move forward that would allow the business to expand into other sectors without directly referencing energy.

The new branding needed to be refined with a slightly more corporate edge, but still representational of the company’s innovative ways of working.

Brand guidelines

Brand guidelines were developed to ensure that the new branding elements are being used consistently and correctly both inhouse and by and external stakeholders that the EIC works closely with.

The guidelines detailed the correct usage of the EIC logo, brand colour palette and fonts.

Promotional materials

A large part of the rebranding process was to redesign all of the EIC’s current print materials, templates and publications. As members of the team regularly attend events to scout for new contacts, partners and technologies it was important to update business cards and promotional flyers in line with the new branding.
